Annette Birdsall

I am a poet, picture book author, 12 x12 member, SCBWI member, retired library director, and former youth services librarian. My poem, Barn Owl, appeared in “Little Thoughts Press,” Issue 11, Stirring Words. Crochet Lessons and Sea Urchins Surfing the Moonglade appeared in The Dirigible Balloon, 2026. My other published work has been in professional library journals with articles on encouraging reading to babies, teens, and reluctant readers; and on removing library fines and access barriers across populations. I live with my husband, a Brittany, and several chickens on Podunk Road in the Fingerlakes region of central New York, US. Hiking waterfalls at home and in the Adirondacks is one of my favorite things to do. Along with writing, quilting, crocheting, baking, and playing with my grandchildren bring me joy.
