Chris Throgmorton

Head of Clinical Transparency
(He/Him) · Simi Valley, CA

Chris Throgmorton has built his professional journey around accountability and clear direction. From leading more than 150 Marines to managing clinical trial transparency at Neurocrine Biosciences, he has focused on achieving results through steady leadership. As Head of Clinical Transparency at Neurocrine, he is responsible for shaping global clinical trial disclosure strategies and ensuring compliance with FDAAA 801, EU CTR, and other regulations. His experience across military service, biopharmaceutical companies, and government-regulated environments has guided his practical approach to leadership and problem-solving. At Neurocrine, Chris established the clinical trial disclosure program from the ground up. He created internal procedures, established vendor oversight structures, and implemented document management tools, including Smartsheet and SharePoint. He also works closely with executive leadership and ensures the organization remains prepared for evolving regulatory standards. Previously, Chris served as a Program Lead at a major biotechnology company. In that position, he managed supplier performance and analytics within the Regulatory Affairs and Safety department. He oversaw budgets exceeding $50 million and led strategy for more than 15 global drug products. His work enhanced audit readiness, reporting consistency, and operational efficiency by implementing governance models and performance dashboards. Chris's early leadership began in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served as a Sergeant and Quality Assurance Safety Observer. He led Marines and civilian contractors, and while he was in charge, his unit was the only one on base to pass its annual audit, which earned him the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. Outside of work, he donates to CHOC to support children’s health, serves on the board of Kid Gloves Boxing to mentor young people, and assists veterans transitioning to civilian life. Chris Throgmorton earned an MBA from California Lutheran University and a BA from Arizona State University. He enjoys staying active, volunteering, and following developments in biotech policy. Chris remains committed to building strong systems and leading with integrity and purpose.
