Something as innocent as "Tell us something about yourself" always strangles my brain to a halt that I can practically hear the screeching brakes in my head. Introspection was never a favorite pastime of mine and one of my greatest fears is that I'll always find myself wanting. So in the interest of answering the question, I'll do so by stating facts that I know to be true: - I'm halfway through my 25th year - I have a stable job that pays a comfortable enough living for a single Pinay in Manila (which I am) - I love to read. Most-read genres include YA fiction of the Harry Potter and Artemis Fowl kind and light classics of the To Kill A Mockingbird and Lord of the Flies persuasion. I also go for trashy romance novels, usually period pieces and those that revolve around witches and related mystic undertones. - I love to sing. I'm not the best singer you've heard, my voice neither unique nor memorable, but I can certainly hold a tune. - I love to perform. The stage is my home and I've been missing it so much like an amputee misses a phantom limb. - I have recently discovered a love for shoes. Now that I have financial freedom, I find myself expanding my impulse buys from accessories to shoes. My latest fixation is on statement heels; the kind you're really not supposed to walk in but I force myself to. -I am a drama queen with no real drama to play out. I read of great love stories and have yet to be in one of my own. As the tumultuous love lives of those close to me unfold like incredible works of fiction, I remain the observer and vicarious-liver of their colorful affairs. And now, I guess I'm a writer.
