Hi I'm Giland! Here are a few things about me. I am currently a second year student studying BA Broadcast Communication (BA BC). I don't have a single favorite book of all time, but rather, a favorite series: The Harry Potter franchise by J.K. Rowling. I love it because it makes me realize the magic in life. Whenever I read it, it puts me in a different world wherein I can leave my stress and responsibilities behind. It may be seen as a fantasy book, but it also deals with many mature themes such as discrimination, loss, sacrifice, and so much more. My favorite film of all time is Makoto Shinkai's Kimi No Nawa (Your Name). It was one of the only films that made me feel so many emotions watching it, and left an impact on me even after watching it. Although admittedly, a big part of why I love this film is its musical score. The OST fits the scenes so well that it adds a whole other dimension to your watching experience. The score is so strong that even with just hearing a part of the songs, you could already picture the particular scene that matches it in your head. My favorite media practitioner of all time is Reese Lansangan. I really look up to her because she is such a well-rounded artist, and her work in each of her fields spill out to the other. She is a singer-songwriter, graphic artist, fashion designer, vlogger, videographer, etc. She really has a hand in everything she puts out, and you can really see the passion and love she has for her craft. She is also a really great person and friend! My current favorite band of all time is boy pablo. They're actually just a bunch of kids my age from Norway, but they've already made it big in the music industry in the span of a year. I watching and listening to them because they just seem like a bunch of friends having fun and making music. You never feel like they are pressured to live up to anyone's standards or norms. Their music is also very diverse yet organic— they can do several styles, and they make use of their instruments to do so. However, my favorite song is St. Petersburg by Reese Lansangan because it talks about the journey you take towards self-discovery, but in a very calming way. I believe this song really mirrors my life right now. My favorite meal of all time is grilled salmon! I really love the taste of salmon, and I love how juicy and tender it is. It also doesn't make you feel bloated, so eating a lot won't be a problem. It also reminds me of the tour my family and I had in Alaska after my grade school graduation. For my hobbies, I love dancing, singing, and playing the ukulele. Hosting and public speaking are also other things I love doing. I am also really into the indie scene, especially the OPM one, and I enjoy doing or going to anything related to that. That's all for now!
