I'm a PhD candidate in law at Leiden University researching the right to democracy. I am particularly interested in the use of randomly selected citizens' juries (sortition) as a means to secure everyone's human right "to determine their own political, economic, social and cultural systems and their full participation in all aspects of their lives" (Vienna Declaration), including in the political, economic, workplace and environmental arenas and from local to national and global decision-making.
